Daystar's Dark Shadows (Ayalon update)

Ayalon Update:
JewishIsrael recently reported that Anne Ayalon, wife of Deputy Foreign Minister (and former Israeli Ambassador to the U.S) Daniel Ayalon, appeared on the Daystar Christian television network last month and openly discussed her Christian evangelical heritage. She encouraged Christians to come to Israel for reasons including, "Eighty percent of Jesus' ministry is up in the Galilee. You walk there and you just feel god's love!".

We reported that this was not an exclusive incident, as Anne apparently had previously used her position as the wife of an Israeli Ambassasor to, “share her testimony about Jesus “ express ” her love for Jesus” and even give “a capable explanation of God’s Trinitarian nature…”, on the banquet circuit.

The Jewish Post reported that Anne Ayalon was "the highlight" of a Gala dinner at Capital Hill in Washington D.C., as she described how “Danny had his first diplomatic course during endless nights of theological discussions with Anne's father about religion and whether Jesus was the Son of God…”

JewishIsrael feels that Anne once again overstepped the line by appearing last month on Daystar, and this is why…

Daystar's Dark Shadows:

Daystar is, by definition, a Missionary network which expends great energy and dedicates numerous programs towards targeting Jews for conversion. A pathetic and sinister sample of their programming can be seen here as Rabbi" Ralph Messer and messianic Aviad Cohen (who recently made aliyah) “teach you how to lead a Jew to Jesus”.

When the Daystar Television Network announced its plans to broadcast in Israel in 2006, Marcus Lamb’s studio guest Pastor John Hagee declared, “It’s just all I can do to keep from getting up and dancing. It’s a joy and it’s a dream come true. If we are able to preach the gospel without reservation [in Israel]... it’s a major breakthrough.” Hagee noted that the Bible “talks about the gospel going forth from Jerusalem, and if this is in fact the announcement that the gospel can go forth without any limitations, without any editing and so forth... This is a first.” (Hagee then proceeded to make the first $1000 pledge towards the endeavor on the air.)

Daystar’s days in Israel were short-lived. Seems Israeli viewers didn’t take kindly to a network “broadcasting missionary advertisements directed at Jews”.

But one has to ask, just what kind of a Jew would affiliate with and partner in such an evangelical and apostadistic* endeavor?
*[Note: I coined that term. It’s a combination of apostate, apocalyptic, apostles, and sadistic]

Enter Ronny Levy of M.A.D.P.-Tarshish Foundation – Daystar’s affiliate in Jerusalem

“As an orthodox Jew of the Levy tribe, son of an orthodox family of 11 generations in Jerusalem, educated all his life in orthodox schools and yeshivas, I can guarantee you that when the day of Salvation arrives God will open our eyes, and if God shows us that Jesus is the Messiah, we will receive him with love and joy! We do not turn our backs on God and His message! If He sends Jesus as His Messiah we will have to accept Him! We will be unable to turn our back on God!”

Among his many past and present titles, Ronny Levy is the personal advisor to the President of the Franciscan Foundation for the Holy Land, and served in the past as advisor of M.K. Yair Peretz, former (and convicted) Chairman of both the Knesset Social Lobby and the Knesset Christian Allies Caucus. Ronny is pictured with a number of political and religious personalities on his Tarshish site ( my personal favorite is Ronny with Rav Ovadia Yosef).

Getting back to Daystar… Last year Marcus Lamb, the founder, president and CEO of Daystar was a featured speaker at the Messianic 2008 Conference (see MJAA promo clip) where his explanation as to why the gospel must be preached to the Jew first was aired internationally via satellite - on the Daystar Television Network.

Conclusion:

Anne Ayalon was on Marcus and Joni Lamb’s show last month as the wife of an Israeli government minister and former ambassador from the Jewish state. Given the bitter history of Daystar in Israel, and the notorious missionary reputation enjoyed by the Lambs, Anne Ayalon had no business appearing on that program - where she repeatedly speaks of herself and of her background as a Christian. She speaks of Daniel as a Jew, but seemingly not of herself as having accepted the Jewish faith.

If Anne at some point converted to Judaism, then she has a lot of explaining to do. If she’s a Christian married to an Israeli official, then she was also out of line to use her position in such a way. What is going on in the Israeli government? The implications are enormously distressing.

For the record Marcus and Joni Lamb make mention at the beginning of the Anne Ayalon interview that Daniel Ayalon made an appearance on their show - via video conferencing - a few days before Anne’s appearance.

I can’t seem to locate that particular show, but Daniel Ayalon’s views on Christian-Jewish relations are not difficult to locate, and soon you can view several telling quotes in JI's Judeo-Christian section.

For example, how does our secular Deputy Foreign Minister of the Jewish state feel about Christian eschatology?

While at the 2006 CUFI conference, ABC News Nightline asked the then ambassador about the prophecies dim view of Jews, Ayalon said,
"When the messiah comes we will ask him if he’s coming or returning and that would establish if we would all be Jews or Christians. Until he comes, I don't worry myself about this."

I understand that she may have converted at one point to Judaism. A sincere convert would obviously realize that belief in jesus as lord and savior is idolatrous and beyond the pale of Judaism.

I'm sure there are many, many people who converted for love and who do not take their Jewish faith and committments seriously, but she is a public figure in the Jewish state of Israel - and this ientire episode is totally unacceptable

Does she not know of Christianity's pagan roots and adolatrous practices? Does she not know enough about the words of Hashem to Moshe to understand that Hashem would never sanction a 'moshiach' who would give rise to such idolatry as the J person has. Much idolatry, paganism and evil has been done in this J person's name. Having studied Torah and the words of Hashem, I really do not think that the G-d of the Torah would approve of this J person in any way. Anne Ayalon needs to be educated about the true history of what this J person has given rise to throughout history. I would gladly inform her.

JewishIsrael will be posting several of Daniel Ayalon's quotes in the Judeo-Christian section under Resources. The blog is not a rant about the religious status of his wife, it is an attempt to create public awareness about the depth of the problem we are facing here in Israel.

I think if you take the time to review some of the content you will see that JewishIsrael is primarly focusing on creating public awareness, as fundamentalist Christians now have a political, legislative, economic, cultural, philanthropic, and religious foothold in Israel, as well as property holdings. Missionary activity is running rampant and unchecked in the Jewish state. The spiritual integrity and continuity of the Jewish people is in danger due to a lack of ethical accountability, legislation, and rabbinic guidelines.

Israel has embraced impassioned Christian leaders and organizations whose very raison d’etre is and remains evangelism. And this mainly due to an irresponsible and naive approach on our part. Example:
“the evangelicals are our best friends - don’t ask questions.” ("don't bite the hand that feeds you")

We hope our efforts will inspire uniquely Jewish solutions and pro-activity. So if you feel Daniel Ayalon needs to be ousted from public office, then perhaps the material we provide will assist you in that endeavor
